OSU Crew dominates at the Redhawk Sprints

Due to bad weather and poor water conditions in Spring Lake, MI, the team was not able to compete at the Lubbers Cup regatta this weekend as originally planned. Instead, the team made last minute arrangements to enter the Redhawk Sprints in Oxford, OH in order to compete against fellow Ohio teams such as University of Cincinnati, Miami University, Cleveland State University, Case Western Reserve University, University of Dayton, and John Carroll. The Buckeyes performed well in every event, with the men’s side taking home gold medals from every event entered. Additional highlights from the weekend include the program’s first gold in a men’s varsity 8+ event since the team was reinstated, and a commanding victory in the men’s novice 8+ with a 39.2 second gap between the Buckeyes in 1st place and the next fastest boat. Thank you to Miami University Rowing Club for allowing us to make last minute entries, and thank you to the Parents Club for making last minute arrangements to keep athletes well fed.
