OSU Crew raced on Saturday, November 3rd at the Head of the Hooch Regatta in Chattanooga, TN. Beautiful conditions and a fast course led to an exciting day of racing for all crews.
The Men’s Novice team kicked the day off right with a 1st Place finish out of 33 entries in the Men’s College and Club Novice 8+ event. Also in that event, our 2nd Men’s Novice 8+ placed 13th, beating all other B-Crews and several A-Crews. The Novice Men then found themselves back on the podium with a 2nd Place finish in the College and Club Novice 4+.
Later that morning, the Women’s Novice team posted a strong 7th place finish out of 30 entries in the Women’s College and Club Novice 4+. They defeated every club entry in the event, only falling to handful of varsity programs.
The Men’s Varsity squad took 4th place in the Men’s Championship 8+ Event. They posted a time that would have won gold in the College and Club Event, a great improvement on their 8th place finish in 2017.
The Women’s team concluded their fall racing season with a strong 12th place finish in the Women’s College and Club 4+ out of 41 Entries.
At the conclusion of racing on Saturday, Ohio State sat in 6th place out of 59 teams in the collegiate team points, 3rd place among club teams. Congratulations to all of our athletes!
