Buckeyes Take First Strokes of the Spring in Lake Lure, NC

Ohio State Crew spent their Spring Break training in Lake Lure, North Carolina in preparation for the upcoming spring racing season. Rowing three times per day, the team was able to put down many crucial meters and take some significant steps toward building championship speed.

During the camp, both the men and women’s squads had the opportunity to scrimmage other teams. The men first took on the University of Alabama Crew Club, where the 1V8 and 1N8 won convincingly in each competitive piece. The men’s squad then held a joint practice with the Columbia Lightweight Men’s team, led by OSU Crew alum Nich Lee Parker. The women scrimmaged Bryn Mawr college for the second consecutive spring, where they fell short by a narrow margin in each piece.

The productive week of training and encouraging early results has the team prepared to continue to build speed once we hit the water back in Columbus!
