Row For Dimes

Published by Webmaster

Our annual “Row for Dimes,” in cooperation with the Central Ohio March of Dimes, is one of our largest fundraisers.  The March of Dimes is a non-profit organization that raises money for lifesaving research among babies with birth and it sponsors educational programs to improve the health of babies.  The Row for Dimes is held in March at Dick’s Sporting Goods at Easton and Dublin.  Each rower is required to row for one hour on the ergometer (rowing machine).  We ask for pledges, either in flat donation or a specified amount per meter rowed.  The proceeds from this event go toward our club’s maintenance budget, and a portion will go to the March of Dimes.  This year’s goal is to raise over $25,000.  The Row for Dimes is our way of reaching out to the community in a charitable way.

A Message from the March of Dimes:

In an average week in the United States:
-9,246 babies are born preterm.
-6,040 babies are born low birth weight.
Part of your donation will support the March of Dimes, a leader and pioneer in the fight to save babies.  With an outstanding track record of success, the March of Dimes is preparing to accomplish even greater things in the future to solve the problems of prematurity, birth defects, and low birth weight.

Interested in Making a Donation?

To find out more about making a donation, please contact Fundraising Officer Julie Stehli at: stehli.4@osu.edu.

Tax Deduction and Checks:

You can make their donations of $50 or more tax deductible by making the check out to “ORRC.”  All other checks can be made out to “The Ohio State Crew Club.”  The reason for this is because to offer the tax deductible status checks must go through our alumni association.  Receipts for tax-deductible donations will be available upon request.
