The Midwest Championship Erg Sprints will occur on February 27th at the RPAC at The Ohio State University.

On November 21st, the varsity and novice men participated in the annual dual with the men’s crew from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Both squads rowed well, but fell short of winning. The men’s team appreciates all of the women and alumni who came to cheer them on.

On November 14th, the women’s team had a dual with the NCAA women’s crew from Dayton on the O’Shaughnessy reservoir. The Buckeyes V8 and second varsity 8 both beat Dayton in their respective races. The women’s novice 8 finished in front of Cincinnati (who competed only in the novice events), yet behind Dayton by 3 seconds. The second novice 8 finished close behind Dayton in their race.

The Buckeyes traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee, and finished 6th out of 42 colleges in total team points. The men’s championship 8 placed 3rd among 13 crews. The men’s lightweight 4+ took home a gold medal, while the men’s club 8 finished 4th. The women made a strong showing placing 2nd in the club 8 and 4th in the lightweight 4+. For those keeping track at home: our new Vespoli fours have already taken home two gold medals against stiff competition.
